Brucefield boutique B&B opened in April 2009 after extensive refurbishment to the property in a project lasting eighteen months. Our goal was to create somewhere we would like to stay, to bring together the elements we have most enjoyed in other guest houses and hotels all over the world: a high sense of design, attention to detail and personal touches that lead to a sublime experience.

The public areas of the building are decorated in an eclectic style, from French revival to hip bar. The hallway, guest lounge and dining room boast solid wood oak floors and Italian lighting. Eclectic style elements include the fun Chinese dragon Osborne and Little wallpaper in the hallway, Aluminium stag and deer heads from Graham and Green in London, some truly zany retro 20's table lamps and extensive use of contemporary Scottish photography throughout the property. The guest lounge evokes a cozy, hip city night spot and features a complimentary mini bar offering wine, beers, whisky, vodka and mixers.

Attention to detail is most evident in the guest rooms, which are all furnished in modern dark oak furniture and a neutral palette. Most rooms contain sumptuous curtains which fall to the floor in pools of plush fabric. En-suite bathrooms are tiled in travertine or granite, and feature gorgeous toiletries from Arran Aromatics, based on the isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Gorgeous silk and linen cushions complete the beds. All bedrooms feature wall mounted flat screen TVs with fifty-five digital TV channels, twenty-three digital radio channels and DVD players and we have an extensive library of DVDs and CDs for guests to borrow. Hospitality trays in the bedrooms contain decaf and caffeinated teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits and cafetieres too, so guests can enjoy proper ground coffee in the morning. All bedrooms have mini fridges containing fresh milk and bottled Scottish spring water. Guests are free to store drinks for personal consumption in the fridges. Wireless broadband is available throughout the property at no cost.

We have endeavoured to give our breakfasts a local flavour: our ingredients are sourced from local farmers and butchers and are organic wherever possible. Guests can try out the local specialty, hot buttered Arbroath Smokies, or a Scottish favourite, full Scottish breakfast including the world-famous Stornoway black pudding which we order in especially from Charles MacLeod in the outer Hebrides. For something lighter, we offer eggs scrambled to a Gordon Ramsay recipe and served with Scottish smoked salmon. In addition to cooked breakfasts, we offer fruit and fruit juices, cereals and oat porridge, organic yoghurts, toast and croissants.

While Brucefield Boutique B&B does not offer evening meals, we will be happy to recommend and book local restaurants for guests. We also offer guests the facility to use the dining room to eat food ordered in.

Brucefield sits in a lovely mature garden, which is available for guest use. In the summer months, guests can take a glass of wine outside and challenge their companions to a game of croquet. Or simply sit under the trees or on the lawn and enjoy the all-day sunshine thanks to a south-facing garden.

We pride ourselves on service. If you would like restaurants, golf, any trips or taxis booked, just let us know and we will do everything we can to help you make the most of your trip.
